Purpose of the position
The Account Manager is co-responsible for sales activities and achieving the objectives of the Sales department.
Job requirements
Proficiency in both Dutch and English, spoken and written (business level)
Minimum MBO (intermediate vocational) working and thinking level
Proficiency in MS Office
Knowledge and experience in active sales
Affinity with the agricultural market, preferably in the mushroom industry, but this is not a requirement
Technical insight
Convincing and self-confident, with a persuasive presence
Able to work independently and be self-directed
Responsibilities
Each account manager is responsible for their own geographic territory. The territory is determined by the CEO in consultation with the account manager, based on the number of account managers and the size of the respective countries.
Responsible for relationships and relationship management within their own territory
Responsible for providing timely and accurate quotations to customers in their own territory
Performing calculations using available calculation models
Responsible for achieving the set KPIs within their own territory
Responsible for setting up and managing an appropriate document structure to improve or accelerate the sales process
Responsible for independently providing solutions to ongoing problems
Responsible for proactively informing the CEO about progress and potential bottlenecks, complaints or issues.
This position will for sure cover the Netherlands and Belgium as the primary territory. Any additional countries (e.g. Ireland, England, France, or Germany) will be considered in consultation. The account manager is not expected to make long-distance trips. If there is a need, this can be considered, but there is no necessity for a sales person to work 80 hours per week visiting countries like Australia or Argentina. Depending on the territory, the working hours may range from 24-40 hours per week.
Authority
Independently authorized to schedule and conduct appointments with (potential) customers, either at Mush Comb or at the customer’s location
Independently authorized to set up and expand relationship management and acquisition according to their own judgment
Independently authorized to issue quotations on behalf of the organization, according to sales values determined by management
Independently authorized to finalize sales and, in consultation with the operational manager, make delivery agreements
